So far in Maine..., Wednesday, July 30, 2008 Well, I've been in Maine for two months now. The Maine Media Workshops is a great place to submerse yourself in photography. I certainly have. In this short period of time, I have learned sooooo much! I'm very eager to take this experience back home with me and apply it both in my own teaching approach at Tech as well as simply utilizing it in my personal photography.
Speaking of that, I've had this week off so I've been producing a steady list of images. There are many images I've wanted to make and in the past two days I've dented that list with three new ones. I probably won't work much in post on them until I get back home to a consistent computer, but I'm digging it.
Oh, if you get a chance, pick up a copy of the latest Creative Quarterly magazine. My copy came in last week. I ended up with four pages of images in it. I was pretty stoked. It's a really well put together magazine, just jammed full of contemporary work. http://www.cqjournal.com
Hope everyone is doing well. Take it easy!
So I'm in Maine, Tuesday, June 3, 2008
Just a quick note. Sitting on a couch in Maine watching a movie with some new friends. Things are nice. Haven't started working yet... that begins Sunday. Although tomorrow I'm helping put up the staff show. The drive took three days. I'm not a huge fan of driving but enjoyed some aspects of it. Got to see a lot of this country. The return route will be neat because I've already lined up extra places to stay.
Keep in touch, I'll post more later.

And it's online.
Again.
This has been a crazy two weeks. In the beginning I was spitting blood due to no longer having wisdom teeth. Then I decided I needed to rebuild the website. Fast forward to right now and it's done. Sorta. I'm sure there are bugs in it. If you find one, please tell me. Some of the wording could be better. But the important thing is it's up right now. The content is there.
I leave for Maine in a little over 48 hours. I'm off to bed. Enjoy the new website. Send me an email and let me know your reactions and thoughts.
Getting started, Friday, May 23, 2008
Okay, it's after 4 AM on this Thursday/Friday and I'm working on this website. This is obviously the blog section. Now I admittedly am atrocious at maintaining these things. Even if I could speak my blogs into existence, I'm fairly reluctant to just throw my internal thoughts out onto an unsuspecting html file. I will try to put something on here at least once a week, even if it's just to say hi.
This is a different blog from the old site. The last one had the ability to comment, organize by subject, direct link posts, etc. Well, I had about 400 spam comments pretty soon. I first noticed something was weird when in my site stats, I saw people found my site by googling enemas and fetish porn (not related, hopefully). Turns out the spam bots were advertising this on my site, so I had to put up a password wall to keep that stuff away. Then no one ever commented (probably because I soon stopped posting). I also organized some of the posts by content, but my OCD kicked in and I started questioning if a certain blog post really fit that subject or if I should create a new one, or maybe it should go in two, or would it be best to have it subject-less? Enough. The direct link ability was nice for that one time I appeared on designers-who-blog.com. Otherwise, pointless. So this will work best. It's just mind-to-mouth-to-fingers-to-text.
I may post images in the blog from time to time. We'll see. I have no expectations or a priority with this thing. It's just here to become whatever it wants to (and hopefully that doesn't mean enema porn).
