I am currently an MFA student at Louisiana Tech University. My major is photography. It's an activity that began for me, like most other things I do, as a child. I was the kid who ran around documenting his family. I recall asking for a Polaroid camera for Christmas when I was nine or ten. I don't remember which year, but during that two Christmas span, one request was the camera and the other was a typewriter.
The photography currently online is some of what I've worked on while a graduate student.
The longer I photograph, the more I find myself pulling from my background in fiction and using photographs to tell these stories racing through my head. I believe that the camera lies, so I take advantage of this to direct my scenes. After all, a good story is a series of lies told in order for the truth to be found.
I'd say only in most of my France photos did I not actively influence what I was photographing. Otherwise, the images you see are a result of my interaction to some extent on the subject in front of me.
