Photos around France
For the past two years, I have spent the majority of my Aprils in Paris. I go on the French Quarter, a study abroad program offered at Louisiana Tech's School of Art.
During my first trip, I produced the Postcards series. During the second, I photographed the Olympic Torch as it came through the city. Those photographs would end up on CNN.
The photographs inside this area have a few of the typical landmarks you think of when you hear of Paris. But they also include a lot of the moments to and from those landmarks. The pauses along a journey or what's happening on the sidelines while progressing forward. I can photograph the Eiffel Tower while standing at the palais de Chaillot after dark and get that image you've seen on countless postcards. But being in Paris is not that. It's what happened and what you saw while journeying from your hotel room to the Trocadero, or wherever you're going.
