Art 205: Digital Photography

Art 115: Basic Design

...And I didn't even plan on teaching.

My original only goal in graduate school was study photography. That's it. I was skeptical of my ability to get up in front of a class and lead them. Fast forward two years...

Since beginning graduate school, I have produced my own Photoshop workshop for the School of Architecture, and in the School of Art I've assisted classes in Digital Photography and Basic Design, substitute taught for Beginning and Intermediate Photography, given guest demo and discussions in Software Manipulation, and led my own classes in Digital Photography and Basic Design. I've lectured on my work multiple times at the Enterprise Center to elementary school children, discussed my work in relation to architecture and nature for the Architecture Graduate Program, and also given Lighting demos to the Department of Interior Design. In the Summer of 2008, I will spend three months as a Teacher's Assistant at the Maine Media Workshops. There, I will work with digital photography and media instructors in week-long workshops as they teach students who come from all over the nation. After the summer ends, I return to Louisiana Tech to instruct my Digital Photography and Basic Design courses one last time while here.

I still get nervous.
