Forgotten Hall
Against the main parking lot on the La Tech campus, there sits the closed building. It is a mystery to all that attend Tech. Its placement is the center of the campus, almost as if it were the glue that held all other buildings together. Yet, its locked doors, with the "Keep Out" spray painted message adorning all of them, restrict anyone from knowing the ingredients to this adhesive.
From the outside, all measures to prevent someone from gaining an appearance of the inner walls have been taken. Plywood is firmly etched into the windows, secure and free from anyone removing it. This method applies to the bottom two ground level floors of this building. Nestled in collapsing shingles, the third floor bears glass windows, but fencing such as chicken wire has surrounded these windows to provide security from the outside world.
These upper windows are the only glimpse that one might have of this building's interior making. It is like any great mystery. The most obvious answers have been boarded up and sealed from any truth. But there rests the upper region with its glass windows. One could almost hear the deep chuckles that this building would give as it provides the answers to many questions, but in a manner done so that would prevent access to these answers.
The same chicken wire that guards the top windows also shields the many holes in the upper region. The once strong shingles have slowly begun to whither and fall from the walls. The exposed wood, after facing countless episodes with the natural conditions, has began to rot away and fall to the ground below to rejoin itself with the shingles. Only the chicken wire guards the inside of the building. And again, a low chuckle can almost be heard. What universe rests inside of this building to be discovered?
